💳 The Cashless Survival Guide
Shenzhen is 100% cashless. From street vendors to taxis, everyone uses Alipay or WeChat.
Before you land: Link your Visa/Mastercard inside Alipay. You will need it for the metro, food delivery, and even buying a bottle of water.
🤖 The Robotaxi Reality Check
Fully driverless taxis (Pony.ai) operate in Nanshan and Qianhai. BUT: The PonyPilot+ app requires a Chinese phone number to register.
Workaround: Search the WeChat Mini-Program "小马智行" (PonyPilot) instead, or book a tech tour that handles the login for you.
